Data#3 has been awarded a contract to provide support and maintenance of the Department of Finance’s Cisco equipment.
The contract, which was held by Dimension Data until it expired earlier this year, is worth $2.9 million to Data#3.
The Brisbane-based service provider was chosen from the ICT services commercial off the shelf software and hardware panel, which lists 40 other vendors and resellers.
A spokesperson from the department said two other suppliers also responded to the request for quotation but did not reveal who they were.
The spokesperson added that Data#3 was chosen because they offered the best value for money.
Earlier this week, Data#3 won a deployment of Microsoft Surface and HP PCs to replace the City of Fremantle's 420 end-user devices.
The company was also recently tapped by Microsoft to provide Azure migration services as part of the vendor's “Modernisation Factory”, an initiative to bring in more government departments to its Azure cloud platform.
