D-Link unveils security surveillance camera

The DCS-2121 Wireless Megapixel Camera can be accessed remotely and controlled from a PC or notebook.

"D-Link's Megapixel Cameras offer a very powerful security solution for homes and offices, providing high resolution images and high end surveillance features at an affordable price," said Maurice Famularo, marketing director D-Link A/NZ.

"In many ways they are superior to a traditional closed circuit camera system because users can log in and view high quality streaming video from any computer with Internet access."

The camera allows both snapshots and recording directly from the Web browser to a local hard drive without installing any software.

It also comes with motion detection features to trigger recording and sending e-mail alerts.

D-ViewCam 2.0 camera surveillance software is included in the package.

There is also a wired-only version available, the DCS-2102 Megapixel Camera, which connects to a home or office network using standard Ethernet network cables.
