Alkesh Soneji- country manager, Cyberoam Australia, told CRN, the product was aimed at road warriors to access the corporate network from homes, customer locations, hotspots over multiple devices that can range from laptops, home PCs to PD.
"Location, platform and device-independent SSL VPN on Cyberoam UTM delivers secure remote access while supporting full business flexibility by allowing web as well as client based VPN," he said.
The product will be available through Cyberoam's Australian distributor, MPA Systems.
Cyberoam UTM comes with a limited one year hardware warranty on Cyberoam spares-parts except power supply and fans.
Soneji said immediate replacement in case of a faulty unit, will be directly from the distributor.
"Resellers get to keep the 20-30 percent margins on every appliance that they sell," said Soneji.
"The strength of Cyberoam's Identity based security in the UTM industry is bolstered because it can tackle internal and user based threats."
Cyberoam has a wide range of appliances catering from SOHO to large enterprises.
The criteria for distributors/resellers in the region is that they should have a proper understanding of the specific business needs of customers and thus provide solutions in accordance, said Soneji.
"After sales, service is also very important, therefore, in view of changing software, functions, updates, customers need vendor and reseller support to stay updated and get the maximum possible performance out of their appliance," he said.
The vendor launched the local leg of Cyberoam in July 2008.
Since then it has appointed 20 resellers to its channel program, with the following top five resellers; @ Work International; Evolve IT; The Grid Corporation; Scope IT Solutions; and Arel IT.
