CSC has scored a $5 million renewal of its deal to provide mainframe services to IP Australia.
The contract was renewed after the prior arrangement expired in May. It is a three-year contract with multiple one-year extensions.
It sees CSC providing a fully managed service including all personnel, equipment, software and other resources used in providing infrastructure and services for mainframe data processing, said a spokesperson from the agency.
CSC has worked with IP Australia since the original cluster 3 contract in 1998, said a CSC spokesperson. "We have been a provider of mainframe services to them for 16 years."
The current infrastructure is an IBM z114. "This is a new mainframe platform we put in 12 months ago under our managed mainframe services contract," said the CSC spokesperson.
Last week, CSC announced the opening of a new security centre in Sydney while IP Australia revealed the winner of its contact centre contract, handing a $4 million deal to Datacom.
