Crossecom picks DevPartner Studio for productivity boost
The Perth-based IT software service provider chose DevPartner Studio for its ability to increase development for Microsoft .NET and native Windows platforms profiling and unit test validation.

Andrew McKean, CEO for Crossecom said its success is built around three key retail fuel solutions, which include; ISSAS, an integrated point-of-sale solution for service stations to manage all their fuel and convenience store needs.

It also includes, FastFill, an automatic vehicle identification and fuel monitoring system, based on radio frequency identification technology; and CrossESEAL, a sealed parcel delivery system incorporating a GPS/GPRS based application and unique sensors to protect assets like bulk fuel against theft or adulteration in transit or storage.

"We are servicing a large and growing market that is not only very competitive but highly susceptible to theft due the importance of fuel," he said.

"We needed an application development tool that allowed our small development team to work at maximum efficiency in addressing our customers' changing business practices."

McKean claimed with increasing demand for software customisation, Crossecom's team of 10 developers faced a number of challenges - including increasing volumes of C++ source code management, troubleshooting and unit test validation.

The company realised that it needed to improve its software development productivity and software quality assurance to keep pace.

"We were approaching the limits of our development environment," said McKean.

"We needed some new tools that would give us greater productivity with certainty that what we were doing was of the highest quality."

Perth-based Crossecom has around 25 years experience in the design and implementation of innovative software systems for the retail fuel industry with its customer base mostly in South East Asia and the Middle East.

Its customers include Esso, BP, BH Petrol, Singapore Petroleum Corporation, Shell, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, Emarat Petroleum and the Kuwait National Petroleum Corporation.
