Sydney-based AWS partner CMD Solutions has been acquired by Melbourne startup Mantel Group.
Last year’s CRN Fast50 third-placer has joined three other cloud providers under Mantel, namely digital services consultancy DigIO, AI and machine learning provider Eliiza and Google Cloud partner Kasna.
CMD managing director Andre Morgan said joining Mantel Group was an “exciting opportunity” to grow the business and provide a broader set of offerings.
“For us, the move is a strategic one, we've always focused on helping our clients to transform and this will help us achieve that at a larger scale across a broader technology set,” Morgan said.
“The move will enable our next phase of growth across regions. It was important for us to find a company that had a similar culture and shared our philosophy around technology, people and customer delivery – Mantel Group is therefore a perfect fit.”
As part of the deal, CMD will move to a new Sydney office while also introducing DigIO, Eliiza and Kasna into Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Mantel Group was founded in 2017 by the co-founders of Cognizant-owned Odecee Con Mouzouris and Michael Bodle, and is built on a house-of-brands strategy. The company started out with DigIO and Eliiza as the core business, with Kasna joining the fold late last month.
“Having CMD Solutions join our team is a key milestone in our strategy and bolsters our capability in cloud technology across Melbourne and Sydney. CMD Solutions share common values and objectives in shaping the future of their business and we can’t wait to work with the team,” Mantel Group chief executive Con Mouzouris said.
“For Mantel Group, it demonstrates our commitment to service our clients nationally. It’s also an important phase in our young business to solidify our ability to grow fast in different ways.”
