ComputerCorp buys Synergy Plus and joins S Central

ComputerCorp has bought Synergy Plus's assets for $9.3 million and will merge with services group - S Central - creating a local giant service integrator.

The combined group will employ 330 full time staff in Australia including approximately 160 engineers and consultants, with skills ranging from desktop break/fix all the way to enterprise data centre skills, including mid range systems, virtualisation and unified communications. 

Robin Rindel, CEO of ComputerCorp will lead the combined croup as CEO and Peter Mavridis the managing director of S Central will join the board of directors of the 'Combined Group' and lead the Groups as the executive director of strategy.

Bill Votsaris is the CEO of Hyro, which owns Synergy Plus, and is a non-executive director of ComputerCorp.

Rindel said these additions to ComputerCorp will allow it to expand its client base and is a very positive step forward in the implementation of its strategy to create an end to end national IT business from the data centre to the personal user.

Synergy Plus, a technology and infrastructure solutions company is part of Hyro Limited ("Hyro"), a digital services company listed on the ASX. 

As one of Australia's first IBM premier partner in 1983, Synergy Plus has been providing infrastructure solutions and services, hosting and managed services for over 25 years.

Synergy's customers include a number of Australia's top 200 companies and government agencies such as Coles Group (Coles, Officeworks, Target and Kmart), Toyota, Bluescope Steel, Elders Ltd, Challenger FG, Corporate Express, Crown and Spotlight.

Votsaris said successful IT infrastructure businesses are emerging in the current market with a balanced portfolio of quality solutions and high value services.

ComputerCorp brings on board vendor partners like; EMC; VMware; Microsoft; Citrix; and Cisco.

S Central's customers cover a range of companies and government agencies and include organisations such as Virgin Blue; Telstra; Honda; St George Bank; Tabcorp; Rio Tinto; and the New South Wales Health Department.
