Commvault has appointed former VMware executive Andrew Goodlace as its new sales director for Australia.
Goodlace will lead commercial sales across the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Northern Territory and Queensland. He will report to Commvault vice president for ANZ Dan Kieran, who joined the company in April 2016, filling the role left vacant for more than six months.
Goodlace worked for Sun Microsystems for three years, starting as an area sales manager for ACT and moving on to a sales director role followed by a managing director role.
In 2010 he co-founded iGo2, a company focused on social media technologies and its applications. In 2011, Goodlace joined VMware as the northern region director and in 2015 he was promoted to senior director enterprise and commercial business for Australia. He left in June 2016 according to his LinkedIn profile.
"As Commvault continues to bring unique and innovative solutions to its integrated portfolio of services, my priority will be growing our business by deepening our relationships with new and existing customers through our valued and established partner ecosystem," Goodlace said.
Goodlace replaces Tom Sawyer who will continue at Commvault in a new role in the US yet to be announced.
Commvault's Kieran said: "Andrew joins Commvault at a time when we are rapidly expanding and gearing up to support our growing customer base in ANZ, as well as when organisations are rethinking data strategies to overcome challenges associated with increased connectedness between technology, people, processes and things.
"His wealth of multi-national experience in high growth sales, general management and business leadership will be a key part of our success as we continue to drive momentum across both Australian and New Zealand markets."
