Canadian consumer storage vendor Clickfree has appointed a country manager to take the product to the IT channel and beyond its retail partners.
Clickfree, which launched in the Asia Pacific in July, has appointed storage veteran Scott Dillon as Australian and
The appointment was part of Clickfree’s plan to “carve a niche for true backup”, Dillon told CRN.
“It’s all about the automated software," he said. “When I saw the product I saw an opportunity. Once plugged in it automatically searches the hard drive for new files, sorts them, organises and back them up,” he said.
Clickfree and its distributor Synnex launched the brand through mass-merchant retailers "to create awareness through major national catalogues".
Dillon claimed resellers that partner with Clickfree could "make a good margin" from selling its devices.
The C2 Clickfree portable back up is available in 500GB and a 1TB version will be released shortly.
Clickfree appointed Logitech veteran Marco Manera to the role of vice president sales and marketing for Asia Pacific in July.
