The appliances were launched in 2006 and since then Clearswift has experienced strong growth.
Peter Croft, managing director, Clearswift Asia Pacific said the increase in the sales of MIMEsweeper Web and Email Appliances demonstrates that organisations are seeking appliance based solutions to secure them from inbound and outbound security threats.
“The explosion in spam and email viruses in the late ‘90’s ensured that protecting the email gateway was pushed to the top of the agenda for organisations,” he said. “The more recent rise of web threats from Web 2.0, spyware and the silent threat of data leakage is now alerting businesses to the need for stronger web security solutions. However, point solutions which only address spyware or URL blocking won’t solve the web security threats facing organisations today.”
Croft said its resellers were seeing increased demand for the mail and web appliances, and seeing increasing brand preference for Clearswift.
“Their ability to articulate the value proposition and to support end users in competitive product evaluation meant that we could take sales activity through to closed business,” he said.
Some of its resellers include Loop Technology, TLC Data Security, Newbase Computers, Total Computer Technology and Dimension Data.
