South Australian council City of Tea Tree Gully has implemented a new property and rating platform to modernise its operations and improve services for more than 100,000 residents, in a partnership with technology provider Atturra.
The council selected technology services firm Atturra to handle the deployment, which went live on 1 July 2024.
The implementation involved migrating 30 years of data from legacy systems, including ratepayer details, property addresses and valuations.
Located 18 kilometres north-east of Adelaide's central business district, the council manages approximately 40,000 properties across its jurisdiction.
Atturra was picked as it knew the council's existing TechnologyOne software, and for its local government experience.
"The TechnologyOne Property and Rating platform is very powerful however its standard configuration did not match our established operating methods", Justin Robbins, general manager strategy and finance at City of Tea Tree Gully Council said.
"We managed to synchronise our go-live with the beginning of the financial year."
"Systems were turned off on the Friday, work completed over the weekend, and the new platform was up and running by the Monday morning", Robbins said.
The new system has been integrated with the council's existing Salesforce application, geographical information systems platform, document management system and payroll system.
Tea Tree Gully's deployment follows the council's successful implementation of TechnologyOne Financials in 2020.
The platform has automated previously manual processes and provided enhanced reporting capabilities through new data dashboards.
The council continues to work with Atturra to explore additional uses for the platform.
