Citrix teases new service provider products

Citrix has teased its service provider partners with news of forthcoming products aimed at their needs.

A new blog post revealed that the company has commenced “final testing” of multi-tenant support for Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops on Citrix Cloud. The post, by senior director for worldwide cloud and MSPs Carlos Blanco, says the new releases will “arrive soon” and mean “allows partners to manage multiple customers, their desktops, applications, and license entitlements, from a single control plane.”

Blanco said “Multi-tenancy is a game-changer, affording partners economies of scale as they transition more of their customers to the cloud.”

Even if you strip away the hype, it’s hard to disagree: running one multi-tenant instance should be easier than running discrete instances for each client!

Blanco’s post also presages the arrival of its Workspaces product, “this quarter”, which will give the Citrix channel another shiny new object to sell!

He also opines that the forthcoming Windows Virtual Desktops service gives Citrix partners a chance to add value with the company’s Virtual Apps and Desktops, and that adding electronic signature and workflows to Citrix Content Collaboration makes it more suitable for service provider partners.
