H.R. Shiever, managing director of Citrix Online Pacific, said: “We’re seeing the emergence of a next-generation SMB that leverages internet-fuelled business applications to drive their businesses.”
High levels of broadband penetration in the Australian SMB space are generating new business opportunities for companies willing to invest in new Internet enabled applications.
“We’re starting to see progressive companies deploy smart applications in order to prosper,” he said.
SMBs integrating new communication technologies such as virtual teams, remote access and Web commuting are becoming increasingly effective at managing traditional issues such as trying to stay competitive, administering cash flows, attracting and retaining talent, and growing the business.
Shiever also claimed that SaaS models are becoming increasingly ubiquitous in the SMB space. “There’s a lot of affordable technology out there that’s delivered in a model that SMBs can buy,” added Shiever.
