Networking giant Cisco has pinched former Nokia-Siemens Networks executive Richard Kitts to fill the vice president role for Australia and New Zealand following former VP Les Williamson’s promotion to a wider APAC position.

Kitts leaves a ten-year career at Nokia-Siemens Networks, most recently as managing director for Indonesia, and having previously led teams across Europe. He starts with Cisco in March.

The A/NZ vice president position was left vacant in June last year after Williamson was promoted to vice president of the Cisco Asia Pacific area, a newly created role as part of a push to expand the company’s APAC presence.

Williamson said in a statement Kitts brought with him an excellent track record of achievements.

“We are very pleased that he has decided to bring his wealth of knowledge and experience to Cisco and our customers and partners,” Williamson said.

Prior to his stint at Nokia Siemens, Kitts held the position of senior account manager at Motorola Australia.
