Cisco leader heads to Marshal8e6

Vigouroux formerly worked for Cisco, Adobe and GE Information Services, as well as several Silicon Valley startups.

He led fundraising efforts to bring over US$50m in new venture and private equity investment to his previous two companies.

"I am very pleased to be joining the executive team at Marshal8e6," he said.

"The people, products and technologies that have been brought together as a result of the recent mergers of Marshal, 8e6 Technologies and Avinti are truly exciting.

"By leveraging the company's combined Web and email expertise, we will continue to grow as a leading security provider in the vital business of protecting networks from today's increasingly blended threats."

Vigouroux has a proven track record in the information security industry of increasing top and bottom line results, most recently as president and CEO of Finjan, an enterprise Web security company headquartered in San Jose, California.

He has also led public companies as president and COO of Tumbleweed Communications.

He joined Tumbleweed through the company's 2002 merger with publicly traded Valicert, where he was president and CEO.

"We are proud to have an executive of John's caliber and experience leading Marshal8e6," said Simon Wilson, Marshal8e6's chairman of the Board.

"Our company has the opportunity to become the go-to provider of integrated secure Web and email gateway solutions, and we are confident that John's experience will be instrumental as we position ourselves to be a top player in this market."
