Cirrus Networks founder and former managing director Frank Richard has left the company completely, relinquishing the non-executive director role he was previously expected to take up.

The company today announced that due to heart surgery undertaken by Richmond earlier this year, as well as an imminent move overseas, he will step down from the board effective immediately.

Cirrus Networks managing director Matt Sullivan acknowledged Richmond’s service.

“Frank’s vision, hard work and dedication to customers and staff has seen the birth of a great organisation and one I am sure will live on as a wonderful legacy to Frank for many years,” he said.

Chairman Andrew Milner also praised Richmond for his work in shaping a successful company.

“Frank’s vision, entrepreneurial skill and hard work at both the executive and board level has shaped an organisation that has achieved so much in a short space of time and is positioned strongly to build on the next phase of growth,” he said.

“While saddened and disappointed to lose Frank from the board, we are delighted to be able to continue to access his wealth of experience and strategic insight in an advisory capacity. Everyone associated with Cirrus joins me in formally thanking Frank for his remarkable contribution and wishing him the very best for the future.”

Richmond founded Cirrus as a private company in 2012 and was instrumental in growing the company as the managing director, and, more recently, the executive director. Though he will no longer serve on the board or at an executive capacity, he will continue to play a role as a consultant advising the executive team for the remainder of the calendar year.
