Nvidia has taken the wraps off the Tegra 4 mobile processor at CES 2013. Dubbed the world's fastest mobile processor, the new chip boasts 72 GPU cores, four A15 CPU cores and a 4G LTE modem.
If Nvidia is to be believed, the Tegra 4 is so powerful that you can have an always-on HDR camera which lets you take one-shot HDR snaps and HDR video on your smartphone.
For web browsing, Nvidia claims you can load up to 27 high traffic web pages in 25 seconds – versus 50 seconds on a Nexus 10.
Tegra 4 is also optimised for intensive 3D applications: Nvidia showed off a demo of the game Dead Trigger 2 to put the Tegra 4 through its paces.
Nvidia also claims that the Tegra 4 is faster than the A6X processor in the iPad 4 – which we can vouch for as being very snappy – so we'll be waiting patiently for the first Tegra 4 devices to land.
