Canada-based CBL Data Recoveries has moved to focus its booming channel with the appointment of a channel manager.
Katie Smith, with a background in retail and IT, will support both resellers and direct customers of the data recovery specialist.
As reported in CRN, CBL has more than quadrupled its reseller base in 2005. It is currently seeking to have 200 partners by the end of 2006.
The company also recently expanded its Brisbane and Sydney data recovery labs with a view to ramp-up service capacities.
CBL Australian managing director Vicky Brauner said the decision to create the role hinged on the dramatic growth of the company’s channel.
“The sheer increase in the number of recovery jobs coming through our doors in the past 12 months combined with the interest of resellers has necessitated the need for a dedicated channel manager,” she said in a statement.
