Case study: SNP Security inks deal with Telstra Securitel Solutions

SNP Security has chosen the three top performing platforms which will meet market requirements and expectations from the products currently available on the market.

The issue was not only to replace the existing network, but to ensure that the new Australian Standards, standard 2201-5 on alarm transmission signals, were met.

All three have been installed in SNP's Grade A1 monitoring centre in West Ryde and each utilise all of the common transmission paths available: Ethernet, dial-up ISP, GPRS, PSTN and GSM.

SNP Security Managing Director, Tom Roche tested each replacement solution to ensure clients the best alarm monitoring network available to those affected customers.

"The alarm monitoring network underpins the essence of remote security transmission," said Roche.

"In order to ensure the integrity of this crucial link, and offer our clients a choice, we installed only what we considered to be the best solutions on the market," he added.

The new platforms enhance the monitoring network due to the solutions which utilise multiple path transmissions.

This ensures an alarm system remains on and reports a genuine alarm if the original transmission path has failed.

"The industry is raising the benchmark in the provision of security, which is positive for the general public and business sectors," added Roche.
