Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Calvert Technologies has taken over the operations of fellow Adelaide based IT service provider Multi Media Interlan.
As part of the agreement, Calvert Technologies has hired Multi Media's Interlan's three staff members and all customer contracts were signed over.
Multi Media founder Brian Bellchambers has assumed responsibility for client service contracts for Calvert Technologies and retained ownership of the company that ran Multi Media Interlan.
Multi Media Interlan provided support services to pharmacies throughout the greater Adelaide area, and also serviced nursing homes, medical practices and retail businesses.
With the acquisition, Calvert strengthened its footprint in the pharmacy sector and increased its head count from 10 to 13.
A spokesman for Calvert Technologies told CRN that the pair came to an agreement that the businesses would work better if they joined.
"Dean Calvert, owner of Calvert didn't want to buy the company, so he's hired the three staff of the business and Bellchambers has signed over all of the company," the spokesperson said.
Calvert said, "Multi Media Interlan had struggled to attract the additional technical skills it required to gain critical mass, a problem that was exacerbated by the business turbulence and spending downturn."
Bellchambers said he wanted to find a path that would look after the interest of both our employees and our customers.
"This step achieves both goals," he said.
According to Calvert, Calvert Technology has doubled in size in four years.
