Hills Limited has signed as the exclusive Australian distributor for video analytics vendor Ipsotek.
"Ipsotek’s video content analysis adds a dimension to a surveillance system that turns heads and provides a level of intelligence we have only heard about," said Hills vendor business manager Mark Shannon.
“VCA provides a powerful set of capabilities to allow users to maximise their investment not only in video surveillance, but also allows use in business analytics for marketing and other commercial purposes,"
The alliance was first revealed at the Security Exhibition & Conference 2015 in Melbourne on 20-22 July. Ipsotek chief executive Bill Flind said that feedback from potential customers at the show was "extremely encouraging".
"[Hills is] the market leader in the region, and have the experience and commitment to deliver and support our advanced video analytic solutions in all of the ket vertical market areas," Flind said. "We are already working closely together in several key government and commercial projects."
Ipsotek boasts the Australian federal government, London Underground, BP, British Airways and the London Eye as customers. Use cases include "perimeter protection, intrusion detection, investigation & forensics and the management of traffic, crowds and operations", according to the vendor's website.
Hills Limited is a technology distributor that also signed up IP surveillance vendor Vivotek last month.
