Brisbane’s Scalable Sytems bought by Indian company Sonata Software

Indian company Sonata Software has announced its acquisition of Brisbane’s Scalable Data Systems, a consultancy that specialises in ERP and is a Microsoft Gold Partner.

Sonata is also a Microsoft-centric organisation: it’s a Dynamics 365 specialist focused on the retail, distribution, manufacturing and travel industries.

Scalable’s flagship offering is CTRM - a commodity trade resource management system - integrated with Microsoft Dynamics ERP. The Australian company also offers human resources, enterprise asset management and production scheduling solutions.

Sonata particularly liked the CTRM product, which it praised as having “earned market leading reputation globally”.

Srikar Reddy, Sonata’s managing director and CEO, said the purchase will give his company “additional IP, and geographical reach, along with a strong fillip to its strategy to be a global leader in the Microsoft Dynamics 365 partner ecosystem with core IPs across wide range of industries and a global footprint, specifically also making us a strong Dynamics partner in the Australian market.”

Scalable’s CEO Brett Crew was also happy. “Sonata is an acknowledged leader in the Microsoft Dynamics space and has a great track record of acquiring and nurturing firms for fuelling further growth,” he said. “With this transaction, Scalable will get an additional capability in the Microsoft tech stack and be able to now address larger and broader opportunities in the market.”
