Brennan IT wins US$1.8m Keycorp deal

IT services and outsourcer Brennan IT has won a US$1.8 million, three-year managed services contract with EFTPOS vendor Keycorp.

Under the terms of the agreement, Brennan IT will support and manage Keycorp’s IT systems and applications. Servers, desktops and application management and maintenance will be included.

Brennan IT said in a statement that it would also manage and maintain Keycorp’s data network and procurement hardware and software.

David Stevens, managing director of Brennan IT, said selective sourcing of IT infrastructure not core to a business could save some companies money.

Jeff Beencke, chief information officer at Keycorp, said Brennan IT was chosen as its managed IT services partner primarily because its service offering suited 400-seat companies such as Keycorp.

"We found that a number of Brennan IT’s larger competitors were not attuned to our needs, focusing instead on the 2000 seat plus market," Beencke said.

Brennan IT was also a match culturally, he said, and could help with Keycorp's future IT infrastructure strategy.

"[Brennan IT] was very flexible when it came to negotiating service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) that were important to us,"Beencke said.

Brennan IT sells IT and outsourcing services to SMBs. The company also owns and operates secured ISP and telecommunications provider SecureTel.

Keycorp is an ASX-listed vendor of secure electronic transactions, such as smartcard and POS systems for retailers.
