Brennan IT has taken the top honour at Mimecast’s 2018 partner awards, bringing home the legendary partner of the year award in recognition of its customer acquisitions over the year.

The email and data security company handed out the awards to its best-performing Australian channel partners for 2018 at its second annual partner awards ceremony in Sydney’s Circular Quay.

“Cybersecurity is only growing in importance and email security is absolutely critical for mid-market businesses. Mimecast is a key vendor for Brennan IT as we work to keep our customers’ information protected,” Brennan IT chief executive Stephen Sims said.

“Winning this award provides vital validation that the work Brennan IT does with Mimecast is valuable and delivers results. We look forward to continuing our strong relationship with Mimecast well into the future.”

Dimension Data Australia was named elite partner of the year, while IT provider Data#3 took home certified partner of the year. VMtech received the rising star award for its year-on-year growth.

Datacom snagged the customer excellence award, while The Missing Link picked up the partner innovation award.

“The Missing Link is proud to be an elite partner of Mimecast. The Mimecast team are instrumental in helping support our clients and we feel honoured to name them as one of our top tier vendors,” The Missing Link Clare Burman said.

“Winning the innovation partner of the year award shows dedication between our teams and strength in supporting our customers’ needs.”

Tom Hickmott of Melbourne-based Techware was named technical champion of the year while Adam Barker of Adelaide-based SecureWare secured the champion of the year award.

“This is a great recognition of the work that we do,” Hickmott said. “Mimecast is an extension of our team and it is the only solution we would recommend to our customers.”

Mimecast also recognised its business development manager Duke Ratnayake as Mimecast partner advocate of the year.

“I’d like to thank all the winners and finalists for their support of our technology and driving our continued shared growth. Our commitment to channel partners who share our passion for delivering great customer outcomes is stronger than ever and it's so great to reward our partners and stand-out individuals for their efforts, loyalty and partnership,” Mimecast channel director Rema Lolas said.

“It’s certainly an exciting time for our channel partner community and I look forward to building the momentum for an even better 2019.”
