BMC Software has appointed Chris Gibbs as its managing director for the Australian and New Zealand region, reporting to BMC Software Asia Pacific president Gavin Selkirk.
Gibbs' appointment follows BMC’s recent Exchange user conference, where the company unveiled its digital strategy, including a set of IT solutions designed to help organisations make the transition from mainframes to mobile and cloud.
Selkirk said: “As we continue on our high growth trajectory in ANZ, many of our customers are transforming into digital businesses, building a strong competitive position for BMC with our new digital enterprise strategy will require strong leadership and an unwavering strategic focus.”
Gibbs joins BMC from the Endace division of Avago Technologies where he was vice-president of sales for Asia Pacific and Japan. Prior to that, he was the vice-president of global accounts for global communications service providers in Asia Pacific and Japan at CA Technologies.
Gibbs was appointed in November, replacing Greg Taylor.
BMC is a global software solutions that helps IT transform traditional businesses into digital enterprises. It serves more than 15,000 customers worldwide including 82 percent of the Fortune 500 companies.
