Blue Coat's Neich joins WAN start-up

Former Blue Coat  country manager Wayne Neich has taken on a regional sales manager role for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands at Silicon Valley start-up Silver Peak Systems.

Neich was tasked with establishing local operations of Silver Peak, also a vendor of wide area network (WAN) optimisation products.

“Our founder [David Hughes] is a former University of Wollongong graduate and the company is now listed on Wall Street Journal’s “Next Big Thing”, Neich told CRN.

Alan Leong, vice president of Asia Pacific and Japan at Silver Peak said Silver Peak was "rapidly expanding its global operations" in response to increased demand.

“We look forward to Wayne’s expertise enhancing our efforts in this very critical region," he said.

Neich founded Blue Coat Systems  Australia and New Zealand in September 2005.

Blue Coat appointed Rajeev Mitroo as its new country manager last year.
