Barracuda Networks has appointed Dan McLean as country manager for Australia and New Zealand, where he will lead the cybersecurity company's sales strategy and market expansion efforts across the region.

In his new role, McLean will focus on strengthening partner and customer relationships while growing Barracuda's presence in the ANZ market, with particular emphasis on supporting managed service providers.

"Dan brings an impressive track record of driving partner relationships and market expansion and building high-performing sales teams in the technology sector," Giovanni Goduti, VP sales international at Barracuda, said.

McLean joins Barracuda with extensive experience in sales leadership and go-to-market strategy across cloud, security, and workforce management solutions, most recently serving as director of sales at MyPass Global.

His previous roles include leadership positions at Emertel, where he helped high-tech companies scale across Asia-Pacific, as well as senior roles at Amazon Web Services and VMware.

Barracuda said it is strengthening its channel strategy in the region through its Partner Success Program, which provides resources to help partners expand their security offerings and better safeguard customers against increasingly complex threats.

"Cybersecurity continues to be a critical priority for businesses of all sizes, and Barracuda's innovative approach to advanced, integrated security sets it apart from its competition," McLean said.

In February this year, Barracuda appointed Peter Alexander as its chief marketing officer.
