Barracuda Networks is collaborating with CyberCert and a variety of MSPs to provide ANZ small and medium sized businesses with a path to SMB1001 compliance certification through the BarracudaONE platform.

The capabilities of the BarracudaONE platform address many of the technical foundations required for SMB1001 compliance, the company claims - including protection across the major threat vectors such as email, data, network, and applications and the option of security operations centres to detect and respond to threats.

The new collaboration with CyberCert enables MSPs that have deployed BarracudaONE to help SMB customers achieve recognised SMB1001 compliance through certified product packages.

MSPs can also claim Barracuda-sponsored CyberCert Certification Credits when they pilot BarracudaONE and unlock further sponsored credits for each SMB client they bring through to certification.

“AI has lowered the barrier for cybercriminals to develop and automate advanced cyberattacks at scale. SMBs are prime targets of these convincing and evasive threats,” said Dan McLean, country manager for Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands at Barracuda.

“With the help of CyberCert we can offer our MSP partners SMB1001 certified product packages that give their customers peace of mind. Not only are their businesses protected, but they also meet the official security standards."

“Our aim at CyberCert is to make it easier for SMBs to achieve cybersecurity compliance in an ever-changing threat landscape. Our collaboration with Barracuda does just that," Ryan Ettridge, cofounder and chief executive of CyberCert said,

"By combining the broad protection of the BarracudaONE platform with globally accredited SMB1001 certification, MSPs will be able deliver true cyber resilience for their clients in a simple, cost-effective way.”

Last year, Dynamic Standards International updated SMB1001, introducing new controls to combat the rise in email-based attacks and to improve threat detection.
