Cybersecurity company Banyan Cloud is expanding into the ANZ region.
Banyan Cloud operates a Cloud Native Application Protection (CNAPP) SaaS platform, with posture management products covering cloud security, database security and Kubernetes.
As part of the expoansion, the company has hired Satish Kumar as its regional sales director for ANZ.
Based out of Sydney, Kumar joins from Microsoft, where he spent over six years, most recently as senior partner business manager of strategic partnerships.
Prior to this, he worked for Ingram Micro locally for seven years in various managerial roles in the company’s cloud and software services divisions.
Kumar will be responsible for collaborating closely with global teams and building out a strong local partner and customer ecosystem, reporting directly to the California-based CEO and founder Nagesh Konduru.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Banyan Cloud at such a high-growth phase and to help build its presence in ANZ from the ground up,” Kumar told techpartner.news.
“The opportunity to shape a regional strategy and partner model from day one is incredibly exciting.
“My time at Microsoft was invaluable — it gave me a global view of partner-led growth, deepened my understanding of enterprise cloud ecosystems, and helped me develop a strong foundation in sales leadership. I’m looking forward to applying those experiences in a more entrepreneurial setting at Banyan.”
With Kumar being the first local employee for Banyan Cloud, he said the goal is to lay the foundation for the company’s regional presence and scale the team over time.
Konduru said the expansion into ANZ is driven by increasing demand for cloud security, posture management and compliance capabilities among local enterprises .
“We’re in early conversations with several high-profile enterprises and there’s strong interest from financial services, SaaS providers, and public sector organisations who are looking for advanced cloud security and compliance solutions,” he said.
“Banyan Cloud is focused on mid-market to large enterprises, especially in regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, government, and technology.
“Organisations that prioritise secure cloud transformation and compliance automation are a strong fit for our platform.”
