Avnet's Costigan moves to Mumbai

He has relocated to the country to assist the Avnet team there build a solutions distribution business.

As part of his role, Costigan will work with the team to bring global marketing and alliance programs to the Indian operation. 

Avnet acquired Ontack Solutions in May 2008 and is currently building a business that will have all the hallmarks of an Avnet solutions distribution operation.

"I am currently living in downtown Powai and catch an "Auto Rickshaw" to work each morning, the trip takes 10 mins and along the way you can witness the sights, sounds and smells that are India," he said. 

"One thing you notice about Indian people is that they are extremely friendly, they will go out of their way to ensure that you are comfortable and at ease. 

"My weekends are usually spent watching the local Avnet cricket team play and then catching up with Avnet India colleagues to watch the IPL," he added.

Avnet India has 120 team members located in five cities across the country. It has offices in Mumbai (head office), Bangalore, Delhi, Pune and Chennai.

Costigan flew to Mumbai in March and will be returning to Australia in July.

"I am the only Australian over here working with the team to ensure that we have a key presence in India," he added.
