Avnet and Alphawest win Juniper awards

Juniper Distributor of the Year went to Avnet collected by Gavin Lawless managing director of the company and J-Partner of the Year A/NZ went to Alphawest picked up by Ian Smith general manager.

Shaun Page VP A/NZ Juniper Networks said the awards were based on a combination of the revenue contribution that these partners made over the past 12 months and Year on Year growth.

He said Alphawest grew its business with Juniper significantly over the last 12 months compared to the year before and invested in capability such as trained engineers and sales staff.

"Our major focus is providing solutions to customers to help them communicate and collaborate and we did that in conjunction with our parent company Optus," said Smith.

"Our partnership with Juniper is key to providing those solutions and we work closely with them to craft end to end managed service value propositions."

Smith said Alphawest has a strong focus around packaging its capabilities to make it simpler to aquire its solutions.

Speaking of the award, he said it was a tremendous recognition of a joint endeavour that spans five years and a combination of the work they do bringing solutions to their mutual customers.

Page said the objective of the J-Partner Summit was to build awareness and brand strategy amongst its partners.

"This event was a 'must do' in the face of everything that is going on because we are 100 percent channel enabled," he said.

"We can't exist without these guys and we didn't want to cut this out of our operational plans for the year."

Page said all of the presentations and discussions during the summit were centred around the business; explaining how partners can make more profit with Juniper.

"The business case is compelling because we don't compete with you and we don't put a product on every street corner," he said.

"For the end user our focus is on driving home both of those points.

"The J-Partner Summit was successful in getting the message across to a lot of our partners and many have approached me wanting more information about independent studies we have commissioned, the benefits of Junos and the data around channel profitability.

"We struck a cord with everyone and it was a terrific opportunity to network."
