Logitech has appointed Avico Electronics as a sub-distributor for its Harmony universal remote range and Squeezebox internet radio and music streaming devices.
The appointment was made to increase Logitech's presence in the custom installation market, among regional audio-visual retailers and "AV independents".
It "builds on Logitech's channel strategy to grow its presence in market segments beyond the IT sector," the vendor's director George Saad said.
"As Logitech drives into specialist channels we need partners that can provide the information and products to help customers make the right purchasing decision," he said.
"We anticipate Avico will make great inroads into the AV area with our newly released Harmony 700 and 900 models, along with our existing Harmony range."
Avico Electronics joins as a sub-distributor under Logitech's Platinum Partners program.
Logitech's existing master distie arrangements with Ingram Micro, Synnex and Scholastic Australia were unaffected by today's appointment.
The vendor said that Altech, Mittoni and All Interactive Distribution together with Avico were now its "Platinum Sub Distributors" and Fluidtek, Wireless 1 and Centrecom Corporate were "Platinum Partners".
