Australia’s Dialog IT beats the world to new RingCentral partner status

Australia’s Dialog Information Technology has become the first partner, anywhere, ever, to score a place in a new elite “Preferred Partner” tier offered by RingCentral.

The unified-communications-as-a-service (UCAAS) vendor introduced the new tier to its program in late June.

As explained to CRN by Curtis Peterson, the company’s senior vice president for global operations, RingCentral decided the new tier was necessary because the fast-growing company needed to distinguish and reward its very best partners.

Ben Swanson, senior director and head of channel sales for APAC added that the new tier may not be RingCentral’s last.

“We have now 9,000 partners globally and as we mature there are areas of tiering that have to come,” he said. “We may not stop there,” he added. “This is our first stage of maturity in the partner program.”

To achieve preferred status, partners must state publicly that RingCentral is their preferred UCaaS provider, using its ware internally, bring in at least US$40,000 in monthly recurring revenue and deliver a minimum of six 100-plus-seat qualified leads per quarter. In return, partners are endorsed as RingCentral partners, gain marketing benefits and are eligible for competitions.

Just 140 Preferred Partners will be named worldwide, making Dialog’s achievement all the more significant.

Swanson hoped more will come from Australia and opined that RingCentral has the local crew to make that happen: after its Australian opening in May 2018, RingCentral now has almost 20 local staff, has expanded to Melbourne, and continues to focus on channel development and enablement.
