Showcasing India’s $18.5 billion IT sector, the trade event attracted over 1500 delegates from 22 countries last year. According to Munish Sharma, senior export advisor for ICT at Austrade, India’s ICT market has presented lucrative partnership opportunities for Australian businesses.
“India’s ICT market is growing at eight percent annually, and the overall economic boom is also providing opportunities in sectors such as retail, telecommunications, banking, finance and insurance services, and construction,” he said.
These market opportunities prompted Austrade and the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) to recruit Australian ICT firms to attend the conference. The group will also visit Bangalore and New Delhi where Austrade is organising pitching sessions to present niche Australian solutions to Indian systems integrators and resellers.
“Indian companies are keen to partner with businesses offering specialised and unique ICT solutions and they are well-positioned to present these technologies to the key players from these sectors,” said Sharma. “These companies cater to both the domestic and global markets, so by partnering with Indian technology companies, Australian businesses can access customers not only in India, but also in the US, Europe and Asia.”
Global industry leaders including representatives from the G1000 and Fortune500 companies, senior government officials and academics will attend the event.
