Atturra intends to acquire Melbourne’s Blue Connections for a total of $25.5 million to establish a “key operational hub” in Victoria.
The acquisition will be made through Atturra subsidiary Cirrus Networks Holdings and is expected to close on August 31, 2025.
The cost is split into $18m upfront in cash and a further $7.5m in cash or shares based on audited earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) targets for the 2026 and 2027 financial years, as well as the retention of key staff.
$500,000 is earmarked for integration costs.
Founded in 1997, Blue Connections offers IT solutions across networking, security, unified communications and collaboration through its network operations centre in Melbourne.
The company also provides IT procurement services across mid-market, enterprise and government sectors and operates an Australian-based 24/7 service desk.
Atturra CEO Stephen Kowal said the acquisition is in line with the company’s strategic focus on scaling its managed services nationally as it will act as a “key operational hub” in Victoria.
“The proposed acquisition of Blue Connections will significantly enhance Atturra’s credentials as a leading provider in managed services," he said.
"It will strengthen Atturra’s service capabilities, while expanding its client base and portfolio of offerings."
Kowal added that Atturra and Blue Connections’ customer base has minimal overlap, “providing an opportunity to broaden Atturra’s revenue streams and market reach.”
Atturra also made recent moves to expand beyond Australia with the acquisition of New Zealand MSP Plan B in December 2024.
Plan B recently took on Atturra branding with chief executive Frazer Scott stepping into the role of NZ country manager for Atturra.
Kowal said of the expansion beyond Australia and into NZ that the two countries represented “a single trans-Tasman economic and talent zone”.
