ASX-listed ASG Group has been awarded a contract, worth an initial $49 million dollars, to provide IT services support and infrastructure management for the Victorian Department of Education.
The initial contract is valued at approximately $49 million over its five year term with options to extend up to a further four years taking the total value to $65 million. It will be managed and delivered by ASG's Southern Region operation based in Melbourne.
ASG is the prime contractor to the Department of Education and heads a strong consortium of partners that includes Oracle Corporation and IBM.
Among the range of services to be delivered to the Department of Education will be a Human Resources Management System upgrade, associated Application Management for the upgrade and complete Infrastructure Management services. The HRMS upgrade will be based on Oracle's Peoplesoft solution.
The Victorian Government contract follows other substantial business wins for ASG in the 07 financial year, including contracts with Qantas, Ericsson, and the Metropolitan Ambulance Service.
Rob Bild, ASG general manager of the Southern Region at ASG said the company was delighted to have been selected as the preferred contractor after an intensive selection process by the Victorian Government. The tender process commenced in August 2006.
“We are very pleased to have secured this contract after such a thorough and demanding selection process. The quality of our service offering has again been demonstrated by this significant contract win further cementing ASG as one of Australia's leading IT Service Management companies.” Said Bild.
