Arrow ECS, Katana1, VMtech scoop Cylance 2019 partner awards

BlackBerry Cylance has handed out regional partner awards to four of its Aussie channel partners at its APAC Partner Forum.

Telstra-owned VMtech took home top honours as ANZ partner of the year, while Arrow ECS ANZ won distributor of the year. Sydney-based reseller Katana1 meanwhile took home emerging partner of the year, while Melbourne-based Cyber Risk was recognised for a strategic customer win.

“We are honoured to be BlackBerry Cylance’s ANZ Partner of the Year after winning Solutions Provider of the year previously,” VMtech chief technology officer Richard Clark said.

“VMtech’s security strategy has always revolved around proactive, agile and next-generation technologies, of which Cylance has been at the core of. We look forward to what we can achieve with Cylance in 2020 and beyond.”

“Our key objectives for this year’s APAC Partner Forum were to thank our valued partners for their contribution in our development over the past 12 months and to understand how to engage better with them. We also wanted to increase their profitability through extending their offerings to include additional opportunity in services,” BlackBerry Cylance APAC director of channels Joe McPhillips said.

“BlackBerry Cylance has a wealth of service offerings, security tools and frameworks that our partners can adopt and deliver using a consultative approach for their customers. The feedback on all of the above was extremely positive and our partners are more excited than ever about the joint opportunity on offer in the Asia Pacific region.”

Cylance's APAC Partner Forum was held in Thailand on 2 to 4 April 2019. The company only revealed the winners of its awards today.
