Systems integrator Araza has hired Doug Richards from Avaya to lead its new Canberra office.

Richards heads both the management and business development team for Araza in the Capital, bringing his 20 years of IT experience and 12 years of Canberra experience.

Araza said the new office comes after its recent successes in landing some federal government contracts, including a recent win with the Bureau of Meteorology.

The company’s existing small consulting base in Canberra will join that new office, and Araza will recruit more heavily in the coming year.

“We were so lucky to get Doug onto our team. Both his technology delivery experience and
his deep Canberra knowledge are going to be of fantastic benefit to the Araza group,” Araza chief executive Victoria Kluth said.

“We have an excellent federal government panel presence and we are confident that Doug will enable our next level of delivery in this region.”

Richards said the Araza has a team of great people passionate about technology and understand how to use it as a business enabler, which make successful technology projects happen.

“This is a very exciting time, I am proud to be part of this team and to be bringing Araza capabilities and success to new clients in the public sector."
