AppOmni opens Google Cloud data centre in Sydney

US-based SaaS security management vendor AppOmni has launched new data centre in Sydney hosted on the Google Cloud Platform.

The company said the data centre aims to address regional demand for specialised SaaS security solutions to counter threats targeting SaaS applications.

The data centre will provide Australian and New Zealand organisations local access to AppOmni's SaaS security posture management service and help ensure lower latency and faster response times.

It will provide monitoring of SaaS services in the Asia-Pacific region and enable efficient resource allocation to handle increased user workloads and surging data traffic.

This approach will help minimise the risk of service disruptions and data loss.

As AppOmni’s data centre provider, Google Cloud Platform maintains security measures under frameworks and certifications including APRA, ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, ISO 27701, SOC 1, SOC 2, and SOC 3.

The IRAP-certified data centre will satisfy data privacy and sovereignty requirements for customers as they seek to secure platforms including Microsoft 365, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Okta and Workday.

"In the rapidly evolving SaaS threat landscape, it’s important to maintain a robust security posture,” AppOmni's CEO and co-founder Brendan O’Connor said.

“As AppOmni leads the way in SaaS Security Posture Management, our expansion into Australia and the addition of the data centre represents a significant milestone in our own global growth."

"We are committed to helping our customers and partners in APAC meet local compliance standards — including APRA and ISM — and leverage insights gained from our experiences worldwide.”
