Anixter has officially announced its signing on as the latest distributor of communications headset vendor Plantronics.
The data-cabling specialist will now carry the company’s range of contact centre, VoIP and mobile handset headsets.
The company was signed, along with ADT, in December to round out Plantronics’ other distributors Siemens and Anyware Technology.
Anixter managing director, Wayne Bogart, said the company decided to hold of announcing the deal until it gained stock from the vendor.
With stock in hand Anixter would now look to develop a solutions-based communications offering for resellers catering to the SME and enterprise markets, Bogart said.
“We have networking through Nortel, VoIP through Zultys and now headsets through Plantronics,” he said.
The company has also been ramping its own infrastructure for a push on the IP communications market this year.
It has appointed around six additional support staff since December and is looking at expanding its third-party ACT and Perth presences into fully-fledged Anixter offices.
“IP security is getting to be huge so we are also looking at building up a hardware-based security portfolio,” Bogart said. “IP cameras and access control is building a lot of momentum.”
