Altech signs up component giant Gigabyte

Second-tier distributor Altech has signed an agreement with components vendor Gigabyte.

Under the agreement Altech will supply Gigabyte’s entire motherboard and VGA card product range to channel partners.

Antony Sheen, director of Altech said the partnership comes at an exciting time as Gigabyte is set to release the DDR3 memory-ready motherboard.

“Gigabyte has a full range of top notch high-performance motherboards and graphics cards that will allow Altech to provide an even wider portfolio of competitive solutions to the market,” he said.

The deal is not an exclusive deal as Synnex and Retron both distributor Gigabyte products.

Alan Chen, managing director of Gigabyte said it was pleased to partner with Altech as it approaches the second quarter of the year.
