US vendor Arbortext has signed system integrator Allette Systems to help it open up the Australasian market for its enterprise publishing software and services.
Michael McGrath, Pacific region country manager at Arbortext, said the developer had signed Sydney-based Allette Systems to provide sales, professional services and technical support for Arbortext publishing applications.
"Allette Systems has an outstanding reputation for successfully introducing new technologies," he said in a statement.
McGrath, who was until recently channel manager at Citrix, said he would be instrumental in helping Arbortext establish its Australasian operation. Allette would deliver XML-based publishing applications to those new markets.
"Enterprise publishing applications may be complex when they span multiple departments and divisions across an organisation," he said.
Nick Carr, managing director at Allette Systems, said organisations were being forced to handle greater amounts of information.
That meant demand for "flexible and sophisticated" document creation and delivery technologies should also increase, he suggested.
Allette Systems designed and integrated publishing systems since 1987. Customers have included large Asia-Pacific publishing companies, Qantas, the Department of Defence and the ASX.
Arbortext, based in the US state of Michigan, has customers including Abbott Laboratories, Boeing, British Aerospace, DaimlerChrysler, Ericsson, Ford and General Electric.
