Alcatel Lucent revamps Sydney learning centre

The facility falls under the umbrella of the Alcatel Lucent University program, which boasts some 20 learning centres globally.

iTnews understands the new facility, based in North Ryde, will replace an existing centre in Alexandria in Sydney's south.

The new centre is said to feature custom-built laboratories that incorporate ISAM, DWDM, IP Edge routers and network management equipment, plus a technology library and classrooms equipped with electronic whiteboards and tablet PCs for trainers.

"This new facility will be a fantastic platform for providing important technical training facilities for Telstra staff," said Luigi Sorbello, Telstra Director Network Technology.

"When looking at the results to date it is absolutely evident that the program is a value-add component supporting Telstra's transformation."

Alcatel Lucent said it has delivered 550 training sessions for over 4,000 Telstra employees in the past.
