With the Super Rugby season about to commence next week, managed services provider VTS IT has revealed to CRN its partnership with the ACT Brumbies.
The Brumbies will provide sponsorship privileges in exchange for VTS' technology services and support.
VTS will overhaul the Brumbies' ageing IT infrastructure, implementing a range of HP suites and Telstra’s Business Systems communications package.
The company has also moved the infrastructure from a "well-known" cloud provider to a completely on-site operation at the Brumbies' new headquarters and sports centre, which opened in May, said Ian Hurley, national sales manager at VTS IT.
The service provider will also roll out a range of Microsoft initiatives, such as providing Microsoft Surfaces to high-performance coaches and Microsoft Lync for players to communicate while travelling.
Last April, VTS acquired the team's former technology partner, Dataflex. The agreement is set for three years, though VTS plans on maintaining a sponsorship role for years to come.
VTS will provide support nationally out of its offices in Sydney, Canberra, Toowoomba and Melbourne.
