Adobe has appointed James McCready to lead the company’s Asia-Pacific business, expanding his role from president of Adobe Japan.

McCready takes over from Paul Robson, who has been appointed president of Adobe’s Europe, Middle East and Africa operations.

“James brings incredible experience to Adobe and I look forward to seeing him continue to grow Adobe’s business across APAC in his expanded role,” Adobe executive vice president of worldwide field operations Matt Thompson said.

McCready joined Adobe Japan in March this year, after 20 years with Dell EMC, last serving as vice president of converged platforms for Asia-Pacific and Japan from 2016.

He held various sales and executive roles with Dell EMC in Japan, Singapore and in the United States, following a short stint as a professional baseball player with the New York Mets.

Meanwhile Robson departs from APAC after leading the region from 2014, expanding Adobe into new markets during his stint. He first joined Adobe in 2011 after a lengthy stint at HP in Australia and New Zealand.

“As president of APAC, Paul has done a phenomenal job setting and driving our strategy in this important market. I am confident he will make a significant impact on our business in EMEA,” Thompson said.
