Activeport opens up Global Edge platform to international telcos

Activeport's Global Edge, a self-service network connectivity and API portal, is now available to international telcos.

Global carriers now have an on-demand pricing, ordering, provisioning and management platform for automated telecommunications service delivery across Australia.

New Zealand telco Spark and Singapore ISP ViewQuest have signed contracts and Activeport said more deals will follow. The company said these wins validate Global Edge as the front door for telcos buying Australian connectivity.

The new contracts are expected to drive a step-change in revenue growth for Activeport’s Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) product. NaaS is anticipated to deliver at least a $2 million increase in annual recurring revenue (ARR) through FY27, growing past $6 million in FY28.

The company stated it sees significant upside opportunity as it rolls out new products across the Global Edge platform including cloud on-ramps, data centre connectivity, managed firewalls and AI gateways, expanding the range of services every carrier on the platform can buy.

“Signing two major international carriers in launch week tells us the demand is real. International telcos want a fast, fully intelligent platform not only to price but to order and manage across Australian connectivity, and Global Edge is it,” said Activeport chief commercial and operating officer, Michael Glynn.

“With NBN coverage nationwide and new products on the way, from cloud onramps to AI neocloud gateways, ATV has built the front door to Australian network services, and carriers are walking through it. We have used our own software tools to deliver real-time network management for global communications."

Earlier this year, Activeport and FirstWave Cloud Technology partnered with an unnamed Australian neocloud operator to give large enterprises and government secure, high-performance access to GPU compute over the nation's largest carrier-grade networks.
