Access Providers carries out Clever re-branding
Access Providers, Saise Telecom and Activ Australia will now all fall under the ‘Clever Communications Australia’ umbrella, with Clever’s products and services offerings spanning product portfolios of data, voice, applications, security and mobility.

“The purpose of the re-brand is to unify the company after a series of acquisitions and provide a platform for the company’s next stage of growth and expansion,” Clever Communications Australia general manager of products and marketing, John Norcic, told ITnews.

“We have spent considerable time internally integrating the cultures, products and brands of three different organisations to build a unified, fundamentally new organisation with a streamlined and simplified product and service offering.”

Access Providers acquired Saise Telecom in November 2005. Saise Telecom was a predominantly Victoria-based IT and telecommunications company which provided voice, mobile and data solutions for business customers.

In October 2006, Access Providers acquired Activ Australia, a Sydney-based telecommunications and IT solutions provider. The company paid via a mix of shares and cash for each organisation.

The re-branded Clever Communications has kept its two offices – a head office in Melbourne and a supporting office in Sydney. No staff redundancies or relocations were needed during the company’s redevelopment. Instead, Clever Communications plans to grow its business, and aims to establish itself as a “Clever employer of choice” to attract “clever staff”, according to Norcic.

The company will now work with reseller channels to educate them on the new products and service offerings available under its new brand name and has provided them new sales collateral, according to Norcic.

“The new Clever brand is an important asset to the company and we have invested a significant amount on a PR and advertising campaign to raise the profile of the new brand,” he said.

“We will continue this marketing effort into the future to educate the industry on the new and emerging technologies in which we are leading the industry. We are offering the market an alternative in terms of both our innovative wireless technology and also our approach of simplifying complexities.”
