Australia's consumer watchdog has rejected Hutchison Telecom's application to supply Mobile Terminating Access Service (MTAS).
According to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), Hutchison’s proposed price of 12 cents per minute for MTAS services on its second generation and third generation GSM network was too high.
The commission also declared Hutchison’s proposed supply of MTAS on mobile to mobile calls and for fixed to mobile calls overstated the costs of actually providing these services.
Hutchison Telecom could not be reached for comment.
