AAPT to join unlimited ADSL2+ bandwagon

A support staffer from the telco leaked details of the plan, which could also see peak period download caps increased by up to 50 per cent.

It was also revealed that service prices were not anticipate to increase with the better data plans.

A spokesperson for AAPT has since confirmed to iTnews that the leak "is factually correct at this point".

"However we're still refining the product offering and it won't be launched for several months," the spokesperson said.

The structure of the plans could change between now and then, the spokesperson said.

Another Sydney-based ISP, myKP, has gained national attention over its Hero broadband plan, which includes unlimited downloads.

myKP recently signed a deal to offer its unlimited service over Telstra's ADSL2+ network; however, it is still unclear exactly how the ISP can produce sustainable revenues at prices under $80 per month.
