UXC Connect puts telephony on the cloud

UXC Connect is shifting from hardware to services with the release of its new cloud offering.
Weakened hardware sales have prompted the company to offer telephony solutions over the cloud. The industry is "more software and services, and less hardware", said chief executive Ian Poole to CRN.
UXC Connect is leveraging Alcatel-Lucent's OpenTouch Suite to deliver telephony features to a fleet of enterprise devices. These include voice calls, instant messaging, video conferencing, document sharing and collaboration options, as well as the capability to manage unified communications on mobile devices.
